This morning the Washington Beer Blog learned some unfortunate news about the Redhook Brewery in Woodinville. The company found it necessary to lay off a significant portion of the brewery staff. The staffing reduction did not impact employees at Forecasters Pub, just those working in the brewery.
To any of the affected individuals, I want to let you know that at this time I know of breweries currently looking to hire a brewer. Among them, Diamond Knot and Georgetown Brewing. I encourage you to reach out to them directly or I can put you in contact with them if you email me. I know of at least one more that doesn’t want to be mentioned here. I will keep my ear to the ground on your behalf. I encourage any breweries that are currently hiring to reach out to me as well.
According to the report on Brewbound,
Amid declining production at its Redhook brewery in Woodinville, Wash., Craft Brew Alliance has laid off at least a dozen of the production employees who worked at the facility…
Reached for comment, CBA chief operating officer Scott Mennen confirmed the cutbacks, but declined to say exactly how many employees were let go, saying only that it was “about half” of the brewery’s production, packaging, warehousing, maintenance and brewery operations workers…
Before you start leaving snarky comments, I strongly encourage you to read the complete story on Brewbound so you actually understand the situation. Might save you from sounding uninformed.
Put those workers on sales staff until you get your numbers back!
