Washington Breweries Win Big at Best of Craft Beer Awards

A collage of images from the Best of Craft Beer Awards.

Last weekend, professional brewers and judges from as far away as Chile descended upon Central Oregon to judge over 1,850 entries in the 2024 Best of Craft Beer Awards competition. Breweries of all sizes sent over 13,000 containers of their finest product for evaluation in 55 categories and subcategories. Judging took place during a 3-day, five-session period by over 100 of the most qualified international judges. They awarded 169 gold, silver, and bronze medals to 123 brewery locations worldwide.

The judging takes place in Redmond, Oregon. Naturally, breweries from Oregon, Washington, and California enjoy an advantage because transporting beer to the event is so much easier. Call it a home-field advantage. The more beers you enter, the better your chances of winning. Still, that does not diminish the accomplishment. The typical caveat applies: we know which beers won, but we do not know which beers did and did not enter the competition.

  • Oregon breweries raked in 41 medals this year.
  • Washington breweries brought home 27 medals.
  • California breweries also earned 27 medals.
  • Special congrats to Grains of Wrath Brewing for winning four medals.
