IPA Daze Returns with Beers You Don’t Usually See Around Here

Enjoy beers from breweries near and far at Brewlab’s IPA Daze celebration.

Redhook Brewlab in Seattle invites you to its IPA Daze celebration on April 19, 20, and 21. This marks the return of a pre-pandemic IPA-focused soiree. The three-day event also serves as the premier of Redhook’s Big Juicy Ballard, the latest addition to the Big Ballard family of IPAs.

IPA Daze is an invitational IPA festival. Along with Redhook’s own creations, Brewlab will tap into IPAs from a select group of other breweries, including some breweries you do not often, or ever, see in the state of Washington. Breweries like SweetWater Brewing from Georgia, Breckenridge Brewing from Colorado, Green Flash Brewing from San Diego, Alpine Brewing from San Diego, and others. They’ll finalize the complete list as the event nears. Keep an eye on Brewlab’s website.

Along with a lot of tasty beer, IPA Daze features food specials from Kobo Pizza. The brainchild of local celebrity chef Shota Nakajima, Kobo Pizza operates at Brewlab. It’s fusion-style pizza blending Detroit-style pizza with Japanese-inspired flavors. The pizza dough, for instance, includes some mochi flour, which creates a nice, crispy texture.

But wait, there’s more! Along with beer and food, IPA Daze features music provided by DJ Jewel, the host of KEXP’s Astral Plane, the radio station’s weekly psychedelic music show. DJ Jewel spins on Friday and Saturday from 7:00 until 10:00.

As explained in a previous post, Redhook is no longer owned by Anheuser-Busch; it is now owned by Tilray, a company primarily known as a cannabis producer. Some of the guest breweries are also part of the Tilray family of brands–Tilray now owns about a dozen breweries. Put all that together with the fact that this event coincides with April 20th (4/20) and it sounds like IPA Daze will put a lot of smiles on a lot of faces.
