What and where you should be drinking this weekend (June 18-20)

It’s happening. Our calendar of Washington Beer Events is starting to show signs of life as the world gets back to something resembling normal. This post may become a regular thing. Basically, a weekly wrap of what new brews are out there and what beer events capture my interest. This is not intended to be comprehensive. Just one guy’s opinion based on what one guy knows.

Breweries and bars, you can submit events for inclusion on our calendar here. Everyone, feel free to leave comments and tell us about what you’re up to this weekend.

What To Drink

Multiplayer Guild Collab IPA release. Brewers across the state are releasing their version of this beer. Find it, buy it, support The Guild, and enjoy. For more info see our previous post.

3-Way IPA. It is here. It’s an annual release. A 3-way collab project spearheaded by Fort George Brewing involving two guest breweries. It’s different every year. This year’s 3-Way IPA is exceptional. Read more about it here. Thus far, I’ve run into it at Cosmic Bottles in Covington and The Beer Junction in West Seattle. No guarantees.

Opa’s Mustache, Georgetown Brewing. Get it on tap in pints and growlers at the brewery in Seattle. It is described as “a beautiful copper lager with flavors and aromas of mildly toasted toffee, a light peppery spice, herbal notes from the Noble hops and crisp bitterness that finishes clean.” This beer was brewed with, and based on an award-winning recipe from, Annie Johnson, who is an absolute rock star brewer. Read more about it here.

Four New Brews from Best of Hands. Yeah, it’s in West Seattle and that’s a bit challenging, but Best of Hands Barrelhouse releases four beers this weekend. It starts tonight (Friday) with a special event at the brewery. Read about the beers, and the event, here.
