Last night we stopped by West Seattle Brewing Company to check out the newly opened taproom. Located along Fauntleroy Way at the corner of 36th Ave SW, the location could not be easier to find. Simply cross the West Seattle bridge, continue on through the first stop light and you’re there. They even have a parking lot, so don’t use that as an excuse. The actual address is 4415 Fauntleroy Way SW. MAP. For now, the hours are Thursday through Saturday, 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm.

They’ve been brewing for a while now and we found the beers to be excellent. Last night they were pouring, I think, ten different beers. Not bad for an opening day! Kevin Fawcett, the brewmaster, is something of legend in the homebrew world and the rest of us are now getting to enjoy his brewing prowess. I was particularly fond of the American Wheat, which was exceptionally hoppy for a wheat beer, and the Belgian-style Trippel. The barrel-aged Imperial Stout was also noteworthy. They’re still brewing on a small, nano system but the bigger brewhouse is its the way and they will soon be scaling-up production.

I could tell you more about the new place, but if a picture is worth a thousand words, here are 6,000 words describing the new taproom.
