If you listen to KEXP FM 90.3 with any regularity, you’ve probably noticed that some local breweries and beer-focused bars are KEXP supporters. Among them, Watershed Pub & Kitchen and Scuttlebutt Brewing. Pictured at right: Kim and I (big supporters of KEXP) recently got to visit the KEXP New Home.
As much as it is a radio station, with a massive, global online/streaming audience, KEXP is a curator of the arts, a non-profit public radio station supporting music and artists that are otherwise ignored by mainstream, corporate-controlled media outlets. KEXP and local, independent beer is a perfect pairing.
Cheers to Watershed Pub & Kitchen and to Scuttlebutt Brewing for stepping up as KEXP supporters. This Wednesday, March 30th, the next event in the Watershed Convergence Series benefits KEXP. The event starts at 6:00.
You might remember that Scuttlebutt Brewing makes a beer to benefit the KEXP New Home. Read our story about Transistor IPA.
The 19th event in Watershed Pub’s Convergence Series, the pub’s monthly brewery night with suggested food pairings, takes place on Wednesday, March 30th. The event features the beers of Scuttlebutt Brewing and benefits KEXP’s New Home.
The food: Chicken Coppa Salad, Steak and Black Bean Chili, Bacon Mushroom Mac and Cheese, Smokey Chicken and Sausage Pie Fold, Island Hopper Pizza and a special dessert, paired with six Scuttlebutt beers.
The KEXP New Home reaches more music lovers, breaks down barriers between listeners and their favorite artists, and makes it even easier to share new music and experiences with KEXP Community members all over the world.
Guests at the event will be eligible to win prizes in raffle drawings benefitting KEXP. Special musical guest DJ Miguel Rockwell will complete the musical theme for the evening.
