Once again, Washington’s brewers put on a great show at Saturday’s Washington Cask Beer Festival. There were more great beers than you could count. Below we share the People’s Choice winners for both sessions. This is not at all the first victory for Diamond Knot Brewing’s Apple-Cinnamon ESB. Having won in years past, I suppose you could call it the reigning champion. Naked City Brewing is to be congratulated on a great showing.
My personal favorites of the day included the Imperial IPA from Elysian Brewing, the Depth Finder IRA from 7 Seas Brewing, and the Extrawise Firkinize Double IPA from Black Raven Brewing. The Imperial CDA from Boundary Bay Brewing was also on my list, as was the Whiskey Barrel Aged Sour from Naked City Brewing. Also, honorable mention goes to Issaquah Brewhouse and their Randallized India Pale Lager, which was one of the most ridiculously, beautifully over-hopped things ever to pass my lips. But, truth be told, there was a lot of great beer at the festival and I’d be lying if I said that I tried them all. Far from it.
