One day an unstoppable force met and immovable object. It took several million years for the Columbia River and the Cascade Range to work out their differences, but over time the two have learned to live with each other. The result of that geologic peace treaty is the Columbia River Gorge. Unspeakable beauty, Bridge of the Gods, towering waterfalls, the fruit loop, wind surfers’ shangri la, great wine, amazing breweries, and all the rest. The Washington Beer Blog loves us some Gorge. Pictured at right: Dave Logsdon (Logsdon Farmhouse Ales) pouring samples of his amazing beer at the tasting room on the farm near Hood River.
Next week, the Latona Pub (blog sponsor) invites you to spend a week at the Gorge. Well, kind of. All week they will be pouring beers from breweries based in the Hood River area. Meet the brewers at brewer’s night events. The schedule is below. They’ll even be giving away an overnight stay in the Gorge. Also, all week they’ll be showcasing the photographic artwork of Ray Perkins (beautiful pictures of the landscape, the breweries, etc).
