Single Hill Brewing is opening a taproom in Ballard, but not that part of Ballard

Yakima-based Single Hill Brewing is opening a new location, a satellite taproom in Seattle. Single Hill Commons is taking over the space formerly occupied by Outpouring Bottle Shop at the corner of 24th Avenue NW and NW 64th Street, in the northwest corner of the Ballard neighborhood. The brewery says it anticipates opening its new location in early August.

“We had been considering the idea for a long time, but the practical reality of opening a new location was incredibly daunting,” said Andrew Pytel, the Director of Sales and Marketing for Single Hill Brewing. “Chris, the owner of Outpouring, had decided to move on and reached out to us to see if we were interested. Outpouring, being relatively new (~3.5 years), was a very clean shop with a nicely designed and well-maintained draft system, as well as ample to-go cooler space. If we were starting blank from our end, we would have explored the idea of other neighborhoods, but this came to us as a finished product. The Seattle Area is our largest market and has always been a good fit for Single Hill as a brand.”

Of course, Single Hill Brewing’s beer will be a major focus at Single Hill Commons but the company says it will retain Outpouring’s robust on- and off-premise wine and beer program. According to Pytel, “We don’t want this to feel like ‘just another brewery in Ballard.’ So we’re keeping space on our tap list and in our to-go coolers to feature breweries we like and respect. Many in the neighborhood knew Outpouring as a wine bar, so we’ve decided to commit to that side of the business, as well.”

This is Single Hill Brewing’s first retail location in Seattle but is far from the first time the brewery’s beers have made it to the Emerald City. Single Hill’s beer has been distributed to the Seattle area since 2019. Currently, Single Hill is partnered with River Barrel Distributing in the region, and find the brewery’s beers at various bottle shops, beer bars, and restaurants around Seattle.
