Closing down by year’s end, but not closing down the business
Here’s the backstory. Flycaster Brewing opened in Kirkland, near Totem Lake, in 2014. It was a diminutive affair, a nano brewery and pint-sized taproom located in a small business park next to a stripmall. Savage Beer (now Savage Brewing) took over the business in 2020. Since then, Savage Brewing has grown the business. (Above: a crowd at the Savage Brewing taproom, from Facebook.)
Savage Brewing moved production to a larger, off-site facility some time ago. Now it is ready to move out completely. Movin’ on up! Looking for a new, larger location on the Eastside. Sad news for the folks who live nearby and will miss their local taproom, but it is a bright spot—a story of success and growth—in an industry that needs something to smile about. The brewery plans to host a series of parties between now and the end of the year. Keep an eye on Savage’s social media feeds for details.
On social media, Savage Brewing said, “Eastside fam, big news. After 5 incredible years in our OG Kirkland taproom, we’re officially moving on from the space. Savage has been growing, and production has moved to a larger facility so we can brew more of what you love and get it to more shelves and taps.”
“Over the last couple of years, we’ve been hunting for a new Eastside home. The right spot, one that feels truly “Savage”, hasn’t popped up yet. We’re not settling, so stay tuned for that journey! Until we find it, we’re going to send the Kirkland taproom off in style.”
“We’re throwing a series of end of year 2025 parties. Keep an eye on our feed and event page for details. Bring your crew and help us close this chapter the way we opened it: loud, happy, and together.”
“This isn’t goodbye, it’s a graduation. That little taproom launched our brand, our Mug Club, and a lot of friendships that we’re forever grateful for. Thank you for every pint, laugh, and memory.”
