Reuben’s Fremont Taproom Closing, But Not Unexpectedly

It sounds like the team at Reuben’s Brews was anything but shocked. The brewery opened a satellite taproom in Fremont in October 2023, as we reported here. Apparently, it was a short-term lease, so the news that the property owner is going to redevelop the land is not too surprising. Reuben’s Brews’ Fremont location will close, with its last day of service on Sunday, May 18.

This sad news comes on the heels of the announcement earlier this month that Reuben’s Brews intends to open a new location in downtown Seattle, at the corner of First Avenue and Seneca Street. Reuben’s Brews Downtown will offer 28 taps of beer, cider, seltzer, and non-alcoholic beverages as well as a full menu of beer-friendly American pub fare.

“We knew it might happen, but we hoped it would be later. The property owner of the lot where our Fremont taproom is located has informed us that they will be knocking down the building to redevelop the site.”

“Sharing this news is bittersweet because we’ve been thrilled to be part of the Fremont community for nearly two years. During that time, we met so many great people and made so many new friends. Hopefully we’ll continue to see you at our Ballard taproom (which isn’t going anywhere), or soon, our downtown taproom on First Avenue!”
