Frühlingsfest is a German tradition. It’s a celebration of spring and beer. A sort of mini Oktoberfest. In recent years, craft breweries around Washington have embraced the fun of Frühlingsfest. This weekend in Seattle, Burke-Gilman Brewing invites you to join the party. Come hungry. Leave full. Return for seconds. Repeat as necessary. Friday, May 2nd through Sunday, May 4th from 1–6 PM. And then on Monday, the fun continues with a Kölsch Night.
Frühlingsfest Details:
Friday, May 2nd – Sunday, May 4th | 12 PM – 10 PM
Monday, May 5th | 3 PM – 9 PM (Kölsch Night!)
Burke-Gilman Brewing (3626 NE 45th St, Seattle, WA)
“That’s right, folks. It’s time to shake off the winter blahs, put on your finest lederhosen (or at least your most questionable hat), and join us for our 4th annual Frühlingsfest, the German Spring Festival you didn’t know you needed—but now absolutely can’t miss. We’re transforming Burke-Gilman Brewing into a Pacific Northwest slice of Bavaria for four glorious days of beer, brats, and bliss.”
What’s on tap (literally and figuratively):
- Keep an eye on Burke-Gilman Brewing’s Instagram feed as details unfold.
- A keg-load of German and German-inspired beers.
- We’re talkin’ German Pils, Altbier, Kölsch, Hefeweizen, Doppelbock, Vienna lager, Bohemian Pils, Munich Dunkel, and Baltic Porter.
- PLUS some cheeky Radlers to keep things fresh.
- All served in Maßkrug mugs—because size does matter.
- Bratwurst, grilled to perfection. Saturday and Sunday from 1–6 PM. Come hungry. Leave full. Return for seconds. Repeat as necessary.
- Warm, soft pretzels.
- Masskrugstemmen (Stein-holding contests). Outlast the competition. Impress your friends. Possibly pull a bicep.
- Funny hats encouraged. The weirder, the better. You could even win compliments from strangers.
- Traditional garb = bonus perks. Rock that dirndl or lederhosen, and you might score a discounted beer. We’re not saying bribery works, but we’re not not saying it either.
KÖLSCH NIGHT, Special Event: “Monday, May 5th. We’re going full Cologne-style! Sip on this crisp, golden ale from traditional Stange glasses (fancy German talk for tall, skinny ones) and pretend you’re sitting riverside in Köln.”
