Project 9 Brewing Celebrates 1st Anniversary on Sat, March 2nd

“Who remembers last year at this time?” said Seattle’s Project 9 Brewing. “We still had our windows covered in paper and quietly opened our doors for can sales. We started allowing people to stay for a pint and the word quickly got out. It’s been such a wild ride since then and our first year has flown by!” The company just announced that it is now ready to celebrate its first year of operations with a day of celebration on Saturday, March 2nd.

Project 9 Brewing will release four new beers and some fun tiki-inspired infusions to commemorate the occasion. In addition to Sammich, the sandwich-focused food truck always at Project 9 Brewing, two other purveyors will offer food options: Taqueria Puebla and Floranda Philippino Bakery. Along with that, a DJ set by DJ Topspin (AKA Blendiana Jones) from 6:00 until 9:00.

To answer that first question, I remember last year. I was there shortly after the beer began to flow, which is when I took the photos shared here. It was busy, that’s for sure. That thirsty part of the world–where the Roosevelt, Wedgewood, and Maple Leaf neighborhoods intersect–was certainly ready to support a brewery. The beer was better than I expected; I always give new breweries a little time to get the bugs worked out, but Project 9 didn’t really need it. Congrats to Project 9 Brewing on a successful first year. Here’s to many more. You’ll find the brewery and taproom at 1409 NE 80th St, Seattle.
