The Pine Box will host a fresh hop beer festival on October 6th and 7th. Beyond pouring beer from at least three dozen breweries, they’ve got some other fun planned. Think of it as an educational opportunity to compare the flavor and character of several different types of hops. Here’s the word straight from Ian Roberts at the Pine Box.

“It’s that magical time of year again, just after the Hop Harvest. This means a cornucopia of Fresh Hop Beers coming our way and we grabbed each and everyone we could. We are busting at the seams with Fresh Hop deliciousness. That’s why October 6th and 7th we’re happily hosting our 3rd annual Fresh Hop Festival.”

“Monday October 6th at 3pm we will be pouring around 40 Fresh Hops- all on draft. For the first time ever we’ve had to break out our 12 tap Jockey Boxes to accompany our 33 taps in order to accommodate all of the glorious Fresh Hop Beers.”

“On Tuesday October 7th, from 5pm to 10pm, we’re pulling out our 12 Randalls. All 12 will pour Fremont Brewing’s Pale Ale, each featuring a different Hop Varietal. Ever wonder just what Simcoe or Mosaic hops taste like? Now’s your chance to find out. Not to mention, we’ll still have plenty of those Fresh Hop drafts flowing.”
