Look, I know it’s been a dismal start to the Mariners season, but that only means things have to get better. Well, at least we can hope. You gotta have hope. At the very least we get to drink good beer while watching the Mariners stink it up at Safeco Field (see our guide to beer at the ballpark).
The Mariners are once again hosting a beer event during Seattle Beer Week (May 4th – 14th). This year’s Brewery Night at the Ballpark takes place on Friday, May 5th. That night’s opponent is the Texas Rangers.
There’s a pregame beer event in the Outside Corner, which is the large patio area on the 300 level behind home plate, for two hours (from 5:10 until the 7:10 first pitch). There you will enjoy beer from a dozen Northwest breweries, including Bale Breaker Brewing, which will be serving Fresh off the Farm IPA, the official beer of Seattle Beer Week.
It’s not like a typical beer festival. It’s more like a big pregame beer garden with a dozen breweries pouring beers from which you can choose. Two pints are included with your ticket price. Brewery representatives will be pouring the beer, so you’ll probably be able to talk them into a sip of something before committing to a full pint. Be polite and look more hopeful than expectant.
Tickets are $57. Along with a seat for the game, you’ll get a special True to the Brew pint glass and two drink vouchers, each good for one pint. You can purchase more drink vouchers. For more details and to secure your ticket, visit:
