Fremont Oktoberfest returns with beer, fun, & safety on tap

Fremont Oktoberfest returns September 17 thru 19

Seattle’s largest and longest-running Oktoberfest celebration returns to the streets of Fremont for 2021. The three-day event takes place Friday, September 17th thru Sunday, September 19th with new health and safety protocols in place: proof of vaccination or negative test required (see below).

Some things will look a bit different this year. Some won’t.

As always, Fremont Oktoberfest will offer a great selection of local and regional craft beer alongside traditional German beer poured in tasters, full steins, and even big glass boots. Over 80 beers in all. New for 2021, the celebration will offer more sessions to facilitate smaller crowd sizes. Also, other health and safety protocols are designed to set your mind at ease. As in the past, this is a 21+ event.

Along with more festival sessions, the most significant adjustment for 2021 involves vaccinations and/or tests. Festival attendees, staff, and volunteers are required to provide proof of vaccination or a recent negative test result, which means everyone at the festival will be fully vaccinated or have a valid, negative test within 48 hours. Masks will be required at the festival in accordance with King County’s mandate for large outdoor gatherings. Event organizers will adjust the plan if requirements change. Read about the health and safety plan here.

Returning this year, the DJ Tower will provide the soundtrack for the #FOKT street party. They’ll announce the exact DJ lineup soon. Also back for 2021, Dogtoberfest offers an opportunity for your pup to strut its stuff. Sunday only, leashed dogs are welcome at Fremont Oktoberfest. CityDog Magazine returns with its Cover Dog Model Contest at 1:00 Sunday ($10 contest entry).
