If nothing else, the fact that I’m mentioning this event here on the Washington Beer Blog will give many of you an opportunity to express your outrage. But regardless of your opinion, or my opinion, about “that thing that happened last year,” this is a big deal and is worthy of the attention of this blog.
Elysian Brewing is about to celebrate its 20th Anniversary with a big party. Live music and lots of beer will mark the occasion on Saturday, June 11th at Seattle Center. For more details, see below or visit the Facebook event page.

The Black Lips and The Raveonettes to headline concert lineup featuring several Seattle favorites, with 100% of ticket proceeds going to local charities.
SEATTLE – May 2, 2016 – In 1996, the SuperSonics reached the NBA Finals, Nirvana released “From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah,” and Elysian Brewing Company poured its first beer in Seattle’s Capitol Hill. A lot has changed since, but the beer is still flowing from Elysian, 20 years later. To celebrate, Elysian is throwing a rager on Saturday, June 11, complete with plenty of beer from Elysian and friends, food trucks, art, live entertainment, special appearances and much more.
“This city, its residents, beer lovers and countless local organizations have made Elysian a household name in the Pacific Northwest since we first opened our doors nearly 20 years ago, and we owe so much of our success to them,” said Joe Bisacca, founder of Elysian Brewing Company. “We feel it is our duty, a duty we take with pride, to throw one hell of a party and raise a glass to our fans for their loyalty and support.”
