Brewshed® Beer Fest: Protecting Healthy Watersheds by Drinking Craft Beer!
Join us at Washington Wild’s Annual festival to celebrate the connection between protecting upper watersheds and making superior downstream beer! Because clean water = better beer! Back for the sixth year in a row, Washington Wild is happy to present our 6th annual Brewshed® BeerFest!
The Brewshed® Beer Fest will be held on Saturday, June 8th at Hale’s Ales Palladium where you can taste over 40 locally-crafted beers and ciders, all while supporting healthy forests and watersheds. This exciting annual event brings together breweries from around the state to highlight the Brewshed® Connection: healthy watersheds lead to clean water, and clean water makes better beer.
Beer Fest goers will have their choice of delicious brews to sample from Washington Wild’s Brewshed Alliance Partners. Attendees will also get a chance to vote for their favorite beer for the “Best in Brewshed” award. The stage will be set, complete with a balloon popping fundraiser where attendees donate, pop a balloon, and win some awesome swag! Just follow the sounds of popping balloons and
clinking beer glasses!
The Brewshed® Alliance has grown substantially in the last six years, originally just including 8 brewery partners in the Seattle area. Today, the Brewshed® Alliance boasts over 62 breweries and community partners from around Washington State. The program hosts over 30 events a year ranging from guided hikes, to tap take overs, to beer festivals. The program has raised tens of thousands of dollars annually for Washington Wild’s conservation work to protect intact forests, watersheds and sources of clean water through education and advocacy.
Washington Wild works hard to find common ground, both with traditional and non-traditional allies alike, in support of protecting wild lands and waters throughout the state. Washington Wild’s Brewshed® Alliance helps people make the connection between protected waters and the superior downstream beer you can find in your pint glass in Washington.
“Our product- and subsequently our business- relies on our water source staying pure and clean, so naturally we want to voice our support of Washington Wild, Alpine Lakes and the Brewshed® Alliance,” said Pamela Brulotte of Icicle Brewing Company. Icicle Brewing Company sources their water from the nearby Icicle Creek, which was designated as Wilderness in 2014 as a part of the Alpine Lakes
Wilderness Additions – a 7-year campaign led largely in part by Washington Wild.
Last year this fun event raised over $11,000 in support of a wild and green Washington full of great beer. Come out and join Washington Wild at Hale's Ales Palladium on June 8th! Details for the Brewshed® Beer Fest are below:
