Brew Five Three This Saturday at a New Downtown Location

A post card of the tacoma armory building

Brew Five Three Beer and Music Festival This Saturday, August 9th

The event takes place at the Tacoma Armory, which is far from a new building. It is, however, a new location for the long-running Brew Five Three Beer and Music Festival. Image above from Facebook. See our previous posts about this year’s event.

The building was built in 1908 and has served various purposes since opening. It was originally an arms storage facility for the Washington National Guard. It has since been used for military training, social events, and as a venue for concerts and sporting events. Today, the Tacoma Armory is an events venue offering a range of unique spaces, including a 20,000-square-foot parade floor, which should make for a nice beer festival space.

Since 2022, the Tacoma Armory is the home of Tacoma Arts Live, an organization with a mission to energize the community through live performances. The Brew Five Three Beer and Music Festival benefit Tacoma Arts Alive. Here are more details about the event.

Brew Five Three: The 253’s Beer & Music Festival returns to its roots in downtown Tacoma for its 12th annual celebration of craft beer, live music, and community. The party takes place on Saturday, August 9, from 1:00–7:00 p.m. at the historic Tacoma Armory and on Yakima Avenue, which will be closed between 11th and Nollmeyer for this event. Get tickets here.

As we’ve previously reported, the event will feature a lot of great beer and beverages, but today we want to focus on the music and other entertainment. Below, find more information about the musical artists and etc.

Other quick info:
Dogs are welcome—leash up your pup and bring them along for an afternoon of tail-wagging good times.
Getting there is easy. The Tacoma Armory is centrally located and offers ample free street parking. The event is also bike and transit-friendly.
Brew Five Three directly supports Tacoma Arts Live’s nonprofit mission to energize the community through live performance and expand access to youth arts education and community programs.
