However You Pronounce it, Obec Brewing Celebrates its 9th Anniversary

Join the celebration at the Ballard brewery

As Seattle’s Obec Brewing, located in the Ballard Brewery District, celebrates its 9th anniversary, there are two things I want to clarify. First of all, the proper way to pronounce Obec is more like “oh betz.” It is a Czech word for community. Wayne Jehlik, owner/brewer, is proud of his Czech lineage. Second of all, it should come as no surprise that Obec Pilsner is a damned fine Czech-style pilsner, one I find hard to ignore when I see it on a draft menu. Let’s continue.

Obec Brewing, the brewery with a name you’ve probably mispronounced (don’t worry; they don’t mind) is currently celebrating its 9th anniversary. Here’s what they are up to.

Two Patio Shows at Obec Brewing and a Beeriversary Hat Trick

“There are few things we love more than a great band in a small space. We are big fans of getting to hear talented musicians up close — preferably with a beer in hand!  So naturally, we’re celebrating our 9th Beeriversary with two live shows on the patio!”

SeaStar kicks off Beeriversary weekend Friday night, and we’re especially excited to welcome Sam Pace back to the deck for our actual anniversary on Tuesday. If you caught Sam here before, you know why we couldn’t wait to have him back!
