For the past 16 years, Beer Church has organized and hosted Turkey Bowl. By its simplest definition, Beer Church is the philanthropic arm of the Washington Beer Blog. Each year we take over all 32 lanes at West Seattle Bowl for a big food drive, fundraiser and bowling party. The 2014 version of the event took place last Saturday, November 22.
This year the event raised over $5,200 for the West Seattle Food Bank. We also collected thousands of pounds of food. The participation of over 200 supporters, many of them representing breweries and bars from around the Seattle area, fueled the event’s success. Of course, plenty of civilians also participated.

We’d like to thank everyone who attended the event. Also, big thanks to everyone who donated prizes for our target raffle: it was a huge success this year. The coveted Battle of the Brewers trophy is now in the hands of Odin Brewing. The Bar Brawl trophy now sits atop the bar at Copper Coin. Both trophies will be up for grabs again at next year’s event.

In addition to everything else, all five versions of Beer Church Holiday Ale were on tap at the event. Breweries involved in the project this year include Airways Brewing, Elysian Brewing, Georgetown Brewing, Naked City Brewing, and Two Beers Brewing. See our previous post about the beer. We suggest following Beer Church on Facebook and Twitter to stay informed about where you can find the beer on tap around Seattle.
Thanks again to everyone who helped make Turkey Bowl 2014 a huge success.
