Today I’d like to welcome a new blog sponsor: B-Side Brewing and Des Voigne Cellars. Not long ago we told you about Washington’s first fully legal brewery/winery combo. Today we introduce them as our newest blog sponsor.
Located in Woodinville, B-Sides Brewing is the beer side of Des Voigne Cellars. Until recently, it was not legal for a winery to also be a brewery, and vice versa. Some folks managed to find creative ways to circumnavigate the outdated regulation, but last year Washington’s legislature passed a law making it legal for one business entity to produce multiple types of alcoholic beverages. (See our previous post on this topic.) Now you can visit one tasting room and appease both your beer jones and your inner wine lover.
For more than a decade Des Voigne Cellars has provided a fun place to drink great wine, but now they’ve added beer to the experience. The tasting room is large, there’s outdoor seating, and the place will feel familiar to beer drinkers who might normally feel out of place at quiet, stuffy wine tasting rooms.
Des Voigne Cellars and B-Side Brewing is located in Woodinville’s Winery Warehouse district on Artisan Hill. The company occupies over 5,000 square feet of industrial warehouse space where they have a production winery, a brewery fueled by a seven-barrel brewhouse, and a tasting room that measures more than 1,500 square feet. Also, when weather allows, roll-up doors and outside seating.
At the tasting room, they host fun events on a regular basis. For example, next Friday, July 1st they’re hosting a Movie Night. Food will be available from Meat on a Mission, a food truck specializing in BBQ, and the movie selection is This is Spinal Tap, which will play on the big screen. Food truck from 4-8pm, movie starts at 7pm. Admission is free.
Other upcoming events include:
July 8th – Firkin Friday – Bob Thorp, the brewer at B-Side Brewing, will tap into a cask of dry-hopped Double IPA. Bob will be there pouring beer and answering questions from 2-9pm.
July 15th – B-Side Brewing releases a new grapefruit IPA and might also have the new Des Voigne Groove White wine ready for release at the same time. Kabob n Kabob food truck will be there from 4-8pm. Also, they’re working on scheduling feature some live music for the event. This event is still in the works.
July 29 – Food Truck Friday (Cathouse Pizza) and Movie Night (Office Space). Food truck is here from 4-8pm, movie starts at 7pm. Admission is free.
