A recently passed law (HB1602) affords Washington breweries greater flexibility to contract for food services in their tasting rooms. It allows breweries to subcontract with one or more individuals or entities to satisfy food service requirements for restaurant liquor licenses (beer/wine, beer/wine/spirits). This provides more flexibility for breweries looking to open additional locations while still meeting food-service requirements. We told you about HB 1602 in a previous post.
Now that it is law (good work, WA Brewers Guild), the Liquor and Cannabis Board is considering rules around the new law. I recently received a message from the LCB about an upcoming Feedback Session on November 18th. I share that message below.
Feedback Session Scheduled for Alcohol-Related Rulemaking Regarding Contract Kitchens for Breweries
As part of the Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) rulemaking to implement Engrossed House Bill 1602, LCB is holding an online feedback session. The session will cover:
- Draft rules for discussion
- Next steps

- The session may be recorded. Recordings are subject to public disclosure. Recordings help ensure we collect all feedback and that those who can’t attend can view the sessions when they are available.
