A timeless classic, Old Seattle Lager, gets an all-new look

What’s old is new again

Not long ago, I penned an article about the rise of craft-brewed, light-bodied lagers. Yes, the trend has caught on in recent years, but not all locally brewed lagers are exactly new. Old Seattle Lager, for example. Maritime Pacific Brewing started offering its version of a light lager back in the 1990s, and it’s still blessing taplists around the area to this day. Now, it’s getting a fresh new look.

To commemorate the rerelease of this Seattle classic, Rooftop Brewing is hosting a party at the Jolly Roger Taproom in Ballard on Thursday, March 26th. Keep an eye on social media for details.

As previously reported, Rooftop Brewing assumed operations at Maritime Pacific Brewing about a year ago, when Maritime’s founders retired. Rooftop took over the brewery, which it now uses to create its own beers alongside a couple of historic, legendary Seattle craft beers: Jolly Roger Christmas Ale and Old Seattle Lager. Recently, Old Seattle got a new look.
