Today we welcome Hop Scotch Spring Beer & Scotch Festival to the blog as a new sponsor. What’s more, we want to tell you about an amazing give-away: a chance for you to win tickets to the event for your entire entourage. Head over to the Hop Scotch Facebook page to enter. The lucky winner gets 10 Grand Admission tickets. In other words, $300 worth of tickets ($350 if you buy them at the door). The event takes place on Friday, March 30th and Saturday March 31st.

Last year I attended Hop Scotch Spring Beer & Scotch Festival for the first time (read the post). I walked into the event a bit skeptical, I admit. After all, I am beer geek and don’t need anyone messing up my beer festival with top-shelf Scotch and Whiskey. Once there, I quickly realized the insanity of such a statement.

Hop Scotch is a great event. There is more than enough good beer. Also, a diverse crowd that is (dare I say) a bit more attractive than the typical beer festival crowd. Although I did not partake, I heard amazing things about the Scotch. If you are a fan of fine Scotch and Whiskey, then you’ll recognize names like Glenmorangie, Glenfiddich and Auchentoshan, to mention just a few. Also, this year the event will feature a selection of liquor from our local distillers.

Hop Scotch is a bit different than many other local beer festivals in that it is kind of swanky. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a casual affair. A lot of the swank factor has to do with the venue. The Fremont Studio is a lovely event space and is totally decked-out for the Hop Scotch. What’s more, it is conveniently located across the street from Brouwer’s Cafe, a place with which most Seattle beer nerds are very familiar.
