This Saturday, January 18th, 192 Brewing hosts its first Washington Brewer’s Dark Beer & Chili Competition. The event takes place at the brewery’s Lake Trail Taproom in Kenmore. Judged by the public, the tasting competition runs from noon until 6:00, with awards at 6:30 and live music to follow.
Twelve breweries will participate, pairing their dark beer with their chili. Tasting tickets cost $2.00, and are good for a beer+chili tasting. Participating breweries include 7 Seas Brewing, Foggy Noggin Brewing, Big Al Brewing, Airways Brewing (blog sponsor), Diamond Knot Brewing, Brickyard Brewing, North Sound Brewing, Rainy Daze Brewing, Island Hoppin’ Brewery, Odin Brewing, Northwest Peaks Brewing, and 192 Brewing.
Attendees vote for their favorite beer and their favorite chili. At 6:30, event organizers announce the winners in each category. This is an all-ages event but you must be 21 to the drink beer (duh). Dogs are also welcome.
