The Washington Beer Commission happily presents the first-ever Washington Beer Fresh Hop Festival at Marymoor Park in Redmond on October 8th and 9th. Tickets are on sale now. We recently got a look at the preliminary lineup of participating breweries. Thus far, 34 breweries have hopped aboard (list below).

The Commission is calling this festival a one-time event. In part, the Washington Beer Fresh Hop Festival is intended to make up for the sad fact that the Commission has not been able to host the annual Washington Brewers Festival at Marymoor Park for the past two years due to COVID restrictions and concerns. The Commission fully intends for that event to return next June, on Father’s Day weekend, when the coast is clear.

In the meantime, enjoy some Washington-brewed fresh hop beers at Marymoor Park this fall. Up to 40 breweries will pour at least one fresh hop beer alongside another seasonal beer. Beyond that, the event features live music and a number of food trucks.

Not Exactly Like the Father’s Day Festival

Note that this event is for grownups only — 21+ on both Friday and Saturday. That’s one way this event differs from what you might expect at the annual Washington Brewers Festival. The crowds will be limited, with just 4,000 tickets available for each day. The Saturday session will be shorter, from noon until 6:00, and there is no Sunday session. Finally, although it is at Marymoor Park, the specific location will be a bit different: the festival grounds (and the actual ground beneath your feet) will be better suited to handle the season.
