Washington Beer announces big news about 2 upcoming festivals

The Washington Beer Commission has two events planned for the coming weeks. Well, they had two events planned. Now, just one. Read on.

Inland Craft Beer Fest Canceled

The Inland Craft Beer Festival in Spokane has been canceled. That’s the real news here. The event was scheduled for September 24 and 25 at Avista Stadium and will hopefully return next year. For now, the Washington Beer Commission, which organizes and hosts the event, is exercising an abundance of caution, explaining the decision like this:

“Following the latest numbers reported by the Spokane Regional Health Department we have decided to cancel the 2021 Inland NW Craft Beer Festival.”

“Unfortunately, the Covid-19 case rate in Spokane County continues to climb toward high levels after the much more favorable numbers we saw back in July through early August. We appreciate your enthusiasm for the event and we too are disappointed with the unfortunate circumstances leading to the cancellation. We are hopeful to produce this fantastic event again in September of 2022.”

WA Beer Fresh Hop Fest Moves Forward

Regarding the upcoming Washington Beer Fresh Hop Festival at Redmond’s Marymoor Park, the Commission says it is moving forward but monitoring the situation.

“While we have canceled the Inland NW Craft Beer Festival in Spokane we are continuing to monitor the Covid-19 numbers in the King County region in regards to the Fresh Hop Beer Festival scheduled for October 8-9, at King County’s Marymoor Park. We will follow the state guidelines of all attendees wearing a mask when not drinking or eating and we may require proof of vaccination or negative test for entry.”
