The brewery will celebrate its 11th anniversary on Saturday, May 3rd
It’s not uncommon for a brewery to celebrate an anniversary. It’s less common that it celebrates its anniversary with an event that also benefits a worthwhile cause, like finding forever homes for dogs in need. That’s what Wander Brewing is doing this Saturday in Bellingham.
To commemorate its 11th year, Wander Brewing invites you to the taproom on Saturday, May 3rd, to share the love with Happy Tails Happy Homes, a local nonprofit dog rescue organization. The celebration lasts all day, but adorable and adoptable dogs will be there from noon until 3:00. Maybe you’ll meet your new best friend.
Then, from 3:00 until 7:00, DJ Dusty Jewels will spin the vibes and keep the party going. Luchador Burgers will provide the grub. Mabel’s Ice Cream Shop will be fully stocked for your brain-freezing delight. And as far as the beer is concerned, the full complement of Wander Brewing beers will be supplemented by a new Belgian Tripel.
Eleven years ago, Wander Brewing settled down in Bellingham. The brewery’s founders, Chad and Colleen Kuehl, admittedly were not locals, but something about Bellingham called to them. Before that happened, the couple did some serious world travelling vagabond-style, on a shoestring budget. Two kids getting out there to explore the world. One night, as they sat around a campfire in Mozambique, it occurred to them precisely what they were supposed to do with their lives: open a brewery.

The beginnings of a business plan were soon born, and the couple found their way to Seattle. Chad went to school to learn about professional brewing and got his boots wet at real breweries. They’d seen much of the world by then, but Bellingham spoke to them. They decided to start their brewery and the rest of their lives in Bellingham. That was eleven years and two children ago. Today, it is hard to imagine Bellingham without Wander Brewing.
