As a reader of this blog, you are probably the type of person who uses technology to keep yourself informed about the things that are important to you. Like, for instance, beer. Your appetite for information is voracious, not unlike your thirst for beer. You therefore recognize how important it is for an organization like the Washington Beer Commission to have a strong, useful Web presence. You also recognize how important it is for them to take advantage of all the bells and whistles of this new-fangled Interwebs deally, like the Facebook and the Twitter. We just got word that the Washington Beer Commission has launched a new Web site at washingtonbeer.com. If you’ve been paying attention, you know this was sorely needed.
The new Web site is a huge improvement and offers much easier access to important Washington Beer Commission information. The front page of the new site very clearly states the Commission’s role in promoting the Washington craft beer industry. As you might expect, the site also offers information about WABL, upcoming festivals, and Washington breweries in general. They even have links to Facebook and Twitter, so you can follow the Commission using the kind of social media tools to which you’ve become accustomed.
There are some bugs to be worked out, and the site is not perfect, but it is a huge improvement. Remember, they are operating on budget. Congratulations to the Commission for getting this new and improved site launched.
