Vashon Brewing announces plans for taproom, hosting an event on October 21st to celebrate the news
Vashon Brewing has been around for about six years now, starting out as a nano-brewery but eventually expanding and graduating to microbrewery status. Like Vashon Island itself, the brewery is so close you can almost reach out and touch it, but it remains something of a mystery to most mainlanders. Currently, the brewery doesn’t have a taproom, but that’s going to change.
Finding Vashon Brewing’s beer off-island is something of a challenge. Here’s where you can usually find the beer, on-island and off. Your best bet, take a ferry to Vashon Island and drink the beer at The Hardware Store restaurant, the Red Bicycle Bistro, somewhere else on the island, or maybe pick up a crowler or mini-growler at the Thriftway.
We just learned that Vashon Brewing intends to open a taproom in the spring of next year. More than a taproom, they’re calling it the Vashon Brewing Community pub and they will offer food as well as beer. To celebrate the news, they’re hosting a party on October 21st at the Lodges on Vashon. It’s a ticketed event. The price is $99, which includes a six-course meal as well as beer. Get tickets here.
Here’s their description of the preview party:
Sip our latest craft beers while you meet the local artisans that are helping to bring this community vision to life.
After, you’ll sit down to a six course small plates dinner, paired with our seasonal brews and other delicious Island produced beverages.
We invite you to experience an exclusive sneak preview of Vashon’s Community Pub–a celebration of local artisanal foods and beverages!
Cheers to all our sponsors, like…
Where will the tasting room be on Vashon?
They have not yet shared that info with me. Not scheduled to open until next spring, so I’m sure we’ll no more in the coming months.
