Things are tough in the beer industry these days, but there are plenty of bright spots. This story about Trap Door Brewing highlights one of those bright spots.
Trap Door Brewing is expanding in a big and exciting way. The award-winning brewery will open a new location in Brush Prairie, an unincorporated township in southwest Washington state. The company hopes to open the new location in the fall of 2026. Currently, Trap Door operates two other locations in Clark County, Washington: a brewery and pub in Washougal and a taproom in Vancouver.

Beyond serving as a Trap Door Brewing taproom and restaurant, the new Prairie View Station will feature a Portland-like food cart pod. It will provide the community with a much-needed option for dining and relaxing, offering an expansive, indoor-outdoor, family-friendly beer garden atmosphere.
Prairie View Station will serve up pizza and Trap Door Brewing’s beers alongside cocktails and other beverages. The food cart pod will provide vendors with electrical and gas hookups, as well as other services, like garbage, to facilitate a successful business relationship.
“I’ve already gotten letters of intent from multiple food truck operators who want to be part of Prairie View Station,” says Bryan Shull, the CEO at Trap Door Brewing.
Trap Door Brewing opened its original brewery and taproom in downtown Vancouver a decade ago. In 2022, the company expanded operations to include a brewery and taproom in Washougal, taking over a location that was previously home to Amnesia Brewing and Logston Farmhouse Ales. In recent years, Trap Door has earned numerous accolades, including multiple medals at the Great American Beer Festival and the Washington Beer Awards.

Like each of the Trap Door Brewing locations, Prairie View Station will operate as its own entity. To customers, it is a seamless Trap Door Brewing experience, but the businesses are structured to provide each with a certain amount of autonomy.
“If a manager at one of our taprooms has an interest in becoming part of ownership, but doesn’t want to own a brewery, for instance, this structure allows for that,” said Shull. “There are other reasons for this kind of structure, but that’s an important one.”

Brush Prairie is immediately northeast of Vancouver. It is an unincorporated, but quickly growing, community in Clark County. The new Trap Door location, Prairie View Station, is about 10 miles northeast of the company’s downtown Vancouver taproom and about 20 miles northwest of the brewery and pub in Washougal. The location is described as near the intersection of NE 119th Street and NE 112th Ave. It is next to WinCo Foods, with lots of residential homes nearby. The county has yet to assign an official address. Stay tuned for that.
