Tonight, a celebration at Elliott Bay Brewery, Burien

Time flies when you’re brewing beer. It’s hard to believe that it’s been four years already, but indeed Elliott Bay Brewing‘s Burien Brewhouse and Pub is turning four.

On Saturday, March 5th Elliott Bay will celebrate Mardi Gras and its fourth birthday on the same night. The music starts at 7:00 p.m. when Tubaluba, a New Orleans Second Line Band, hits the stage.

We saw Tubaluba at Strange Brewfest back in January and they are outrageous. Guaranteed to get your hips swinging. My best description? Tubaluba is a mostly-brass funk band, though that  isn’t how they describe themselves. “Tubaluba brings vocals, piano, drums, and a mess of horns to the party, serving up New Orleans classics with second line-ified R&B tunes and booty-shaking originals. Funk yeah! Tubaluba influences: Rebirth Brass band, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Mama Digdown’s Brass Band, bourbon, hot sauce, sweet potato pie.”

Birthday cake, dancing, general merriment, and maybe even a little debauchery.  Think… beads.
