A Seattle brewery announces a pop-up taproom in Portland, Oregon
Function PDX is a pretty cool concept. It’s one venue that features a rotating cast of partners. Think of it as a pop-up taproom situation, offering Portland’s beer lovers a deeper dive into beers from breweries near and far.
Most recently, Block 15 Brewing was the featured beer partner, pouring a wide selection of its beers throughout the month of May. In July, the brewery popping up at Function PDX is Urban Roots of Sacramento. But first, Reuben’s Brews takes over the space starting on Friday, June 3rd.
Through June 26, Function PDX hosts a Reuben’s Brews pop-up taproom. “That means pouring special beers, releasing exclusive cans, offering vintage bottles, merch, and glassware, and hosting several themed events,” said an announcement from Reuben’s Brews.
When the doors open at noon on Friday, they’ll off six of the brewery’s core beers in cans to go, as well as a mix of core and specialty beers on tap, including:
- Summer IPA, a bright and citrusy seasonal IPA
- Sun Compass, a new lager-like beer brewed with kveik yeast
- Alpenglow: Galaxy Edition, a hazy IPA with Mosaic and Galaxy
- The 2020 vintage of BBIS, a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout
- Circle of Light, a barrel-aged and dry-hopped apricot sour
- Hazealicious IPA, which just won gold at the World Beer Cup
The draft list will rotate throughout the month. “We’re sending Function a number of beers that won’t be available anywhere else, so you’ll want to stop by NW 23rd Avenue more than once.”
Function PDX is located at 919 NW 23rd Ave, Portland, OR 97210.
We’ll update this post as Reuben’s Brews makes more announcements about the month’s events. We do know that the brewery will release a special beer on Saturday, June 4th, a collaboration with Hair of the Dog.
