Summer is such a tricky time for me. On the one hand, I’m trying to get active and outdoors, look “okay” in a bathing suit (hey, I’m still single), stay in shape and clear my head. On the other hand, summer is packed with outdoor festivals, barbecues, and other excuses to drink more beer than I normally would.
So, why not both?
Redhook Brewery presents their first ever “Pints and Poses: A Celebration of Beer and Yoga” during the month of August, with the first class beginning on August 3rd at 10am. The four week series provides a professionally instructed one-hour yoga class taught by Zach Halley and Timory Malone, followed by one included beer when the pub opens at 11. Additional classes will be held on August 10th, 17th and 24th at the same time, and Redhook asks that attendees show up about 20 minutes early to set up in the grass bowl outdoors.
All you need is your yoga mat, water bottle, and a thirst for a good Audible Ale afterwards (ok ok, you can choose a different beer – but that’s what I’m getting!). The cost is $10 per class (1/2 that for Redhook Mug Club members) or $30 for the full four-week series – and anyone who’s attended a professional yoga class knows just how affordable that is.
Tickets can be purchased in the Redhook retail store, in advance or at the door – so get yourself out of child’s pose and over to Woodinville for a good morning stretch to your beer.
