Pilsner Urquell Nefiltrovany coming to Queen Anne Beer Hall

Most beer nerds are familiar with Pilsner Urquell, widely considered the original example of the pilsner style. Fewer are aware of the unfiltered, unpasturized version of the beer, Pilsner Urquell Nefiltrovany, because it has very rarely made it out of the Czech Republic. Although it has a rating of 99 on RateBeer.com, I don’t see that anyone in the United States has ever rated it. For all I know, it’s never made this far.

All that being said, this mega-rare beer is finding its way to the Pacific Northwest just in time for the 175th anniversary of Pilsner Urquell. Queen Anne Beer Hall has secured five of the eight kegs of Pilsner Urquell Nefiltrovany shipped to Washington. They’ll tap this rare unicorn of a beer on November 16th and pour it until it’s gone. Who got the other three kegs, I do not know.

If you’re a beer hunter, you’ll probably want to take this opportunity to czech this one off in your life list. (See what I did there?)

Coming November 16, the Queen Anne Beerhall celebrates the latest keg delivery by hosting a
special showing of the documentary “Brewmaster” by filmmaker Douglas Tirola. Additionally, the
availability of the Pilsner Urquell Nefiltrovaný coincides with the 175th anniversary of Pilsner
Urquell.

The unpasteurized and unfiltered beer is a unicorn among the beer community. This beer in
particular rarely makes it out of Europe.

With a 99% rating on ratebeer.com, the Pilsner Urquell Nefiltrovaný is sure to delight even novice
beer enthusiasts. The beer itself is rich and crisp with subtle hop bitterness. Medium-light in body,
this complex beer is greatly sought after for its satisfying mouthfeel and uniquely Czech flavor. This
beer is the closest you will get to enjoying a fresh pilsner in Plzen, Czech Republic.

Enjoy it while supplies last, starting November 16th!
