Odin Brewing Company’s new tasting room is now open in Seattle. The brewery is still located in South Park, but the new Asgard Tavern is located in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood near the shores of Lake Union. We originally reported on Odin’s plans to open a satellite tasting room back in June – read that story. You’ll find Asgard Tavern just a couple blocks away from Fremont Brewing, near Gasworks Park (address below).

Rest assured we will make it up there soon to take some pictures and give you a full report. In the meantime, visit Asgard Tavern on Facebook, follow Asgard Tavern on Twitter,  or just stop by for a beer. Check out the story on Thrillist, which includes some photo. Hours and location are below.

According to Odin Brewing’s website, “We intend to showcase our beer, special casks and seasonal products, as well as periodic food pairings and guest breweries.”

  1. It would be nice if they had any kind of retail/tasting presence in South Park – you know, where you make the beer? Disappointing that they could only think North of the Canal.

  2. Others have tried to operate a tasting room in that complex in South Park with no success. It would be nice, but I think anyone can understand the challenges. The bridge to Boeing is closed. South Park isn’t really close to anything but, well, South Park. (and although it may be a nice enough neighborhood, it’s no Wallingford in terms of a beer loving demographic.) Also, other breweries that previously operated in that location/complex had trouble with the landlord as much as the location. Baron Brewing and Laughing Buddha (Trade Route) were limited to being open for just a couple hours per week. For Trade Route at least, the inability to have regular tasting room hours (and traffic) was the impetus to move. I’m not sure if Odin ran into the same kind of landlord nonsense, but I cannot blame them for building Asgard in Wallingford regardless.

  3. On the plus side, South Park still has a ton of growler-friendly (& bottling) breweries close: Schooner Exact, Georgetown, Two Beers, and others not that much farther away (looking forward to an eventual Seapine drop-by). I do miss Laughing Buddha’s days so close to work down here. They were a favorite stop.
