The other day we told you about March IPA Madness at the Latona Pub. Well, Machine House Brewery has a milder approach to the month. The Seattle brewery known for its focus on traditional, English-style, cask-conditioned ales invites you to compete in March Mildness.
“Bill and I have been joking about doing something like this for a few years,” explains Thom Strub of Machine House Brewery. “We are finally going for it this year.”
Whereas IPAs typically clock in 6.5 – 7.0 percent ABV and higher, Machine House’s Mild Ale weighs in at a less maddening 3.7 percent ABV.
Here’s how March Mildness works. First off, you sign up at one of three locations: Brouwer’s Cafe in Fremont, Special Brews in Lynwood, or Machine House Brewery in Georgetown. Each location has a March Mildness chart to track your progress. Prizes are awarded as follows:
- Drink 10 Pints of Mild in the Month of March and receive a limited edition March Mildness Pub Glass
- Drink 20 Pints of Mild in the Month of March and receive a limited edition March Mildness T-Shirt
- Drink more Mild than any other competitor be the 2017 March Mildness Champion.
