Beer Church has established itself in Seattle, on the Web, and around the world. We proudly admit that Beer Church and the Washington Beer Blog are joined at the hip. Beer Church is a Seattle-based social group that has been organizing a minimum of two charity fundraisers each year for the past 10 years. The Beer Church events team donates their time and effort organizing and running the events so that ALL of the proceeds get to the beneficiary. Beer Church’s goal is to provide fun and affordable ways for beer-loving people to get involved in their community and support worthy causes. The Beer Church Web site – www.beerchurch.com – can do a better job of explaining the rest of the story.
Beer Church will be hosting the 10th Annual Turkey Bowl on Saturday, November 15th, 5:30-9 p.m. The event will be held at West Seattle Bowl. Beer Church Turkey Bowl is a bowling party, food drive and charity fundraiser for the West Seattle Food Bank. All skill levels welcome, even those with no skill at all. It’s a party, not a tournament. Entrance fee is $25 – (gets you three games, shoes, and tons of fun). Bring a group or just bring yourself. Sign up in advance at the Web site. Bring non-perishable food items for the Food Bank. The more you bring, the better your chance of winning raffle prizes.
This year the Turkey Bowl will feature two sub-plots:
1) The Bar Brawl — A “friendly” competition between The Beveridge Place Pub, The Dog and Pony, West 5, and The Elliott Bay Brewery Pub.
2) Battle of the Breweries — A “friendly” competition between local breweries. So far, the entrants include Georgetown Brewing, Rogue Issaquah Brewhouse, potentially Big Al’s Brewing, and potentially Schooner Exact Brewing. Again, contact Beer Church via the Web site to get involved.
