By now, everyone is aware of the disaster unfolding in Australia as wildfires sweep across the country. On Thursday, February 13th, two beer-focused businesses in Edmonds, Washington will team up to raise funds for World Central Kitchen’s disaster relief efforts in Australia. Maize and Barley, in partnership with Brigid’s Bottleshop, present Kegger for Koalas. The event involves music, food, and beer, as well as a raffle and a silent auction. The event takes place at Brigid’s Bottleshop on Thursday evening.
“I’m fundraising again for World Central Kitchen, this time I’m calling it Kegger for Koalas,” say Venus Forteza of Maize and Barley. “My last fundraiser, Pints for Puerto Rico, held at Naked City Brewing raised $6,000 among 100 attendees. This time I have partnered with Brigid’s Bottleshop to bring about the largest fundraiser I’ve ever done, anticipating 300 attendees.”
