Hops ‘n Water, an online event that explores this important relationship

Hops-n-water event on July 29

Water, hops, barley, and yeast. Anything else is optional. We all know the important role that water plays in beer. It is the most abundant ingredient and is about 90 percent of our favorite beverage. It doesn’t stop there. Serving as the medium to deliver all the flavor and goodness is not water’s only role in the process of creating beer.

Our friends at Washington Wild have put together an event that explores the important relationship between water and hops. Grab a beer and join them, along with representatives from Yakima Chief Hops and local breweries, for this Zoom-powered event on Wednesday, July 29th.

Hops ‘n Water: How Healthy Watersheds Create Great Beer

Washington Wild and Yakima Chief Hops (YCH) have joined forces to show the importance of healthy watersheds to hop production in Washington State and to brewers creating tasty ales. We will hear from representatives of YCH and their outstanding hop growers on why water is so important to the production of their world-class hops.

Brewers from around the state will also be checking in to discuss how important their local watersheds are to providing them with high-quality water for their brews. Washington Wild will share more about the Brewshed® Alliance and how alliance members are standing up for Washington’s wildlands and waterways. Expect giveaways, robust discussion on craft beer and conservation, and information on hops and the local brewing industry, all from the comfort of your own home.
