It was Seafair weekend eight years ago that I first enjoyed a beer at Reuben’s Brews during the company’s grand opening weekend. I remember that factoid because the sound of the Blue Angels roaring in distance was the soundtrack to my beer.
Hard to believe it was eight years ago that Reuben’s Brews opened its little brewery and taproom up the street from the newer, larger, and now more familiar location on 14th Avenue NW in Ballard. Since that day, the company has enjoyed an impressive growth trajectory, blossoming into one of the region’s best-loved and most-respected breweries.
This year’s anniversary celebration may not be as robust as it’s been in the past, but Reuben’s Brews is going to do what they can, responsibly, to mark the occasion. They’ll mark the occasion with the release of their anniversary beer. Also on that day, the brewery will release its version of Black is Beautiful, a beer brewed in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
From Reuben’s Brews Facebook page:
We are celebrating our Eighth Anniversary next Wednesday, August 5th! Of course we cannot have the same party that we regularly do, but we will still have fun virtually.
To celebrate we are releasing LONG DAYS, SHORT YEARS, our Eighth Anniversary IPA, on Wednesday as well as announcing some other surprises. The label of this beer features the faces of everyone on the Reuben’s Brews team.
These past eight years have flown while we pursued our passion to bring joy to you through our beer. Long Days, Short Years honors all the hard work our team puts in to make our beer better each and every day.
Long Days, Short Years will be available at The Taproom and To-Go Store on Wednesday, August 5th, as well as in distribution around the Pacific Northwest.
About the Beer:
REUBEN’S BREWS 8TH ANNIVERSARY
LONG DAYS SHORT YEARS IPA RELEASE THIS WEDNESDAY
We are proud to announce the release of “Long Days Short Years”, a new Hazy IPA brewed to commemorate this significant moment in our history and a reflection on both the last eight years and the last eight months.
This imperial hazy IPA features Sabro, Michigan Chinook, and Citra hops which gives it a bright nose of orange and lime zest, with a deeper tropical fruit body delivering notes of mango and pineapple, and passion fruit on the finish. Available starting Wednesday at noon at The Taproom and To-Go Store, and in limited release across their distribution area next week.
Our co-founder Adam says it best: “We are thankful and humbled by the amazing community support we have had since we opened, which is how we’ve achieved so much in 8 short years! We are also incredibly thankful for our team – it’s our team that makes Reuben’s. So, we thought it was fitting that the can design features the faces of our whole team who have poured their heart and soul into Reuben’s Brews.”
