Whereas this is the kind of thing that governors do, and whereas this Saturday breweries across the state open their doors and welcome the public for Washington Beer Open House, and whereas people around here drink a lot of locally brewed beer, Governor Jay Inslee just signed an official proclamation declaring this Saturday to be Washington Beer Day.
See our previous post about Washington Beer Open House to learn more about what’s going on.
Among the whereases and therefores, the proclamation points out that Washington is the top hop-producing state in the nation, that only one state has more breweries than Washington (a subject of some debate), and that the economic impact of Washington’s breweries on the local economy is measured at $1.4 billion. Here is the proclamation for your enjoyment.
