Gig Harbor Brewing opened in 2015. The brewery and taproom is located in Tacoma, Washington but was named for the town of Gig Harbor, which is just a few miles northwest of Tacoma via the Narrows Bridge. The brewery opened a second location in 2018, a taproom in downtown Gig Harbor near the waterfront. The company now operates two locations: a brewery and taproom in Tacoma and a taproom in Gig Harbor.
Yesterday, Gig Harbor Brewing announced that it is for sale. By happenstance, I was in Gig Harbor yesterday on unrelated business when the announcement arrived in my inbox. As I witnessed firsthand, downtown Gig Harbor is bustling with people this time of year. The local population has grown considerably in recent years and continues to do so. The foot/retail traffic is increasingly less seasonal and more year-round.
Gig Harbor Brewing’s waterfront taproom is a short walk from the 7 Seas Brewing Gig Harbor 0taproom. It is practically right across the street from the Heritage Distilling tasting room, another popular place of imbibement. The brewery’s production facility and taproom in Tacoma is located on South Tacoma Way, not too far from Tacoma Mall. But I digress…

The micro-brewery, located in Tacoma, includes a 10BBL brewery and two taproom locations, one in Tacoma and one along the water in Gig Harbor.
