Join Fast Fashion Brewing and two Seattle sports icons this Saturday for a special event

This Saturday, January 11th, Fast Fashion Brewing hosts an event featuring two special beers and two special guests. The Glove is a Mexican-style lager brewed in collaboration with Seattle Sonics legend Gary “the Glove” Payton. It’s not the first time the brewery collaborated with a Sonics legend: late last year, Fast Fashion created Reign Man Hazy Pale Ale in collaboration with Shawn “Reign Man” Kemp. The brewery will pour both beers on Saturday. Also, Payton and Kemp will attend the event, which takes place at the Fast Fashion Brewing taproom in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood (details below).

For Seattle sports fans, Payton and Kemp need no introduction, but here it is. They were key contributors to the great Sonics teams of the 1990s, with a combined 15 NBA All-Star appearances between the two of them. Payton, a point guard, earned his nickname because of his relentless, suffocating, snarling defense. He was on you like a glove. Kemp, a power forward, earned his nickname because he could rise above and rain down on anyone, with a dominant dunking ability and a cocky confidence that informed his opponents that he reigned the court. Both were fan favorites, ferocious competitors who haunted the nightmares of opponents. It was a good time to be a Seattle Sonics fan. Really good.

Matt Storm, the head honcho at Fast Fashion Brewing, is a homegrown Seattle guy who grew up loving Seattle sports. Partnering with two of Seattle’s greatest sports icons was a no-brainer. Like the rest of us Seattle sports fanatics, he eagerly awaits the return of the Sonics to the NBA. In the meantime, beer.
