The Beer Junction announces that it has teamed up with Mirage Beer Company to create a beer to commemorate a significant milestone: the 10th Anniversary.
In July of 2010, a new bottleshop opened on 42nd Avenue in West Seattle, offering beer lovers a selection of over 1,000 beers shoehorned into an immediately too-small space. This was the original location of The Beer Junction. Two years after opening, Morgan Herzog moved the business to a location around the corner on California Avenue, added a draft beer system, and changed the business’s liquor license, transforming The Beer Junction into what we know today: a bottleshop and beer bar with a selection second to none.
Earlier this year, we lost Morgan to Multiple Myeloma. The Beer Junction is now in the capable hands of his wife Allison, who was an instrumental part of the operation for some years before Morgan’s passing.
Here is an announcement from The Beer Junction about the 10th Anniversary, including a teaser about the beer they just brewed with Mirage Beer Company.
As you may know, our 10th Anniversary is coming up. Ten years–it’s hard to believe. On July 3rd, 2010, Morgan opened up a small bottleshop at our original location on 42nd Ave. About two years later, on March 28th, 2012, we moved to our current location on California Ave.
Ten years is a milestone, and we have been talking about which brewery we would ask to brew our 10th Anniversary beer for nearly a year. Our first choice was Mirage Beer. Mirage makes consistently excellent beers, has fun experimenting, and is run by nice people. We were excited and grateful when Michael, the owner and brewer at Mirage, agreed. Our brew day was on Monday! It was a great day with brewing, drinking, and plastic dinosaurs…scroll down for pictures!
We would usually have a big 10th Anniversary party with balloons and blow up dinosaurs, but that is obviously not going to happen this year. So we decided to compensate by brewing our beer with very indulgent ingredients…we will announce more details soon! Cans will be on sale in late June (and draft as well, assuming we can partially open the bar).
Also, we’re excited to announce that we continue to add products to The Beer Junction Online Store. Our inventory is constantly rotating, and today we started adding selections from our cellar. Order online and we’ll put together your order for contactless pickup.
As always, thank you for all of your support!
