Join Walking Man Brewing in Stevenson, WA for the 3rd Annual Fools Fest. The event takes place on Saturday, April 7th from noon until 10:00 P.M. at the Walking Man brewpub. Fools Fest is described as “Live music, fun and folly for fools of all ages.” Also, expect lots of beer.
“Celebrate during this kick off to spring event and enjoy Walking Man’s award winning brews including some one-off featured beers and a special food menu throughout the day. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed fools. ‘
Fools Fest features nearly 40 local and regional musicians performing a variety of styles and genres. At noon, the Skamania Pipers and their reverberating bagpipes kick things off with a traditional call to the community. The main stage in the tented beer garden hosts a complete line up of local bands and the indoor stage of Walking Man’s Grain Room event space features local singer-songwriters during the breaks on the main stage.
Portland’s original African-Style marimba band, Boka Marimba will headline the event from 8:30 to 10:00. The ten-piece band blends soprano, alto, tenor, baritone and bass marimbas with high energy percussion and vocals for a unique and irresistible sound.
“These events are a great opportunity for visitors to experience the vibrancy and connectedness of the small town of Stevenson,” said Tom Delzio, Vice President of the Stevenson Volunteer Firefighter’s Association. “It’s also a fun way to meet new people and for locals to come together in support of one another.”
Fools Fest is free for all ages, rain or shine. Donations benefit the Stevenson Volunteer Firefighter’s Association. For a complete line-up of live music and more information about the event, please visit http://www.walkingmanbeer.com/foolsfest or follow http://www.facebook.com/WalkingManFoolsFest.
