We just learned about a new cider festival, CIDER SWIG – The Greater Peninsula Cider Festival. The event takes place on Saturday, September 27th in Gig Harbor. Below we share the details from the event organizers. At right, the founders of Seattle Cider Company, just one of the many cider producers pouring at the festival.

Details:
The CIDER SWIG will host nearly 50 varieties of ciders for sampling as well as select food pairings by area restaurants ($5 and $10). Cideries will have available ciders for sale, to take home, during the event.

Live music by area bands as Budapest West, Spare Thyme Twin Fiddles, Billy Farmer, Lobo Del Mar and The Early Birds will give you a chance to “get your swig on”. There will also be a children’s area with games and activities, making it a family-friendly environment. Cider experts will discuss regional tree varieties and demonstrate pruning and cider making techniques, and all can try their hand at the Apple Launcher.

cider_swigTicket includes: festival entry, signature CIDER SWIG glass, and 5 sampling pour tokens. Additional tokens available at festival. Under 21, free entry with access to all festival areas but the Cider Garden.

Available online: www.ciderswig.eventbrite.com – $25 advance online – $32 at gate; $10 designated driver.  Ticket sales limited to 1,400. Advance ticket purchase encouraged (only 200 “at gate” tickets).
