As we sit on the brink of the Winter Solstice, Fremont Brewing Company offers a light, hoppy diversion from the big, dark beers of the season. On Tuesday, December 29th, the brewery releases this years batch of 77 Select Session IPA. Here’s the release notice from the brewery:
We will be releasing 77 Select, our Session IPA, on Tuesday, December 29th in our Urban Beer Garden (1050 N 34th St, Seattle)! 77 Select will be available on tap, in 6-pack cans, and in 22oz bottles upon open at 11am, and we will tap five infusions at 5pm! Hope to see you there!

Style: Session IPA
Description: 77 Select is made with 7 choice ingredients and Fire Brewed in the pits of Fremont Brewing to achieve its rarefied Session IPA status. With this brew we respect Seattle’s old Horlucks & Sicks Brewing Companies, predecessors of Rainier Brewing, and their flagship beers 66 Select and Rainier. “Alcohol may not solve your problems, but neither will water or milk.” – V.W.P.
ABV: 4.0%
IBU: 60
Down & Dirty: 2-Row Pale, Special Aromatic, Honey, and Dextrapils malts with Citra, Calypso, and Cascade hops.
Color: Orange straw
Aroma: Tropical, dank, orange
Flavor: Spice, passion fruit, grass
I’m assuming Hopworks finally killed the canned non-barreled Abominable. Shame if the case. My favorite local, easy to get winter beer offering.
