The new waterfront location in downtown Bellingham opens on May 29th
Quietly, Beach Cat Brewing opened its new brewery and taproom in Bellingham for a sneak peek last weekend. The pictures above came from Instagram. The public is welcome to enjoy the new waterfront location starting on Thursday, May 29th.
Back in January, we shared a statement from Birch Bay, Washington’s Beach Cat Brewing: “Rumors have been going around, and it’s time to put the rumors to rest; we are staying firmly in Birch Bay for the foreseeable future,” Beach Cat Brewing said. “In addition to that, codenamed Southpaw, we are ecstatic to reveal that we are indeed opening up a second location in downtown Bellingham.”
A couple weeks ago, we shared the news that Beach Cat has announced an opening date. They announced the opening date on a local radio station in Bellingham, KISM 92.9 FM. “Well, if you tuned into 92.9 you heard the great news,” said a post on Instagram. “If you didn’t tune in, that’s OK too, we will be opening our doors to the public on Thursday, May 29th at 11am! We can’t wait for you guys to come see our new spot on the Bellingham waterfront!”
The new Beach Cat brewery and taproom is opening on the waterfront in Bellingham, directly across the waterway from Waypoint Park, near the intersection of Roeder Avenue and C Street (see map). The building has a huge dock overlooking the waterway. Beach Cat Brewing will have some beery neighbors as part of Bellingham’s revitalized, reinvented waterfront. Structures Brewing is a block away, Ponderosa Beer and Books is nearby, and Kulshan Brewing’s Trackside Beer Garden is within easy walking distance.
“It will be a brewery with a taproom, we will have plenty of dockside seating on Bellingham’s waterfront,” Beach Cat Brewing told the Washington Beer Blog. “We will be all-ages and pet-friendly. Birch Bay will remain open as a flagship location and we’ll continue to produce beer there on a smaller scale so we can do fun, interesting beers without having to make a huge batch. We were looking in Blaine for a spot as we love our community out here but the location we were looking at didn’t work out in the end… The new spot in Bellingham checks all the boxes and then some! The location is stellar and there will be plenty of parking available.”
